The new University Hospital is a gift from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to South Upper Egypt. The hospital is located in the new campus, with a total area of 24 thousand square meters. It consists of 3 buildings, including the new hospital, which includes the reception building, clinics and services, and the third building is an educational building and faculty of Human Medicine.The new hospital cost almost one billion pounds, of which 175 million pounds was the cost of medical furnishings for the new hospital, and 50 million pounds was the cost of non-medical furnishings for the university hospital.
Background
In light of the Egyptian state’s to provide a decent life for all the Egyptian people in general and the people of Upper Egypt in particular; who have suffered from marginalization and neglect for many decades.Let the eight years come to erase many of the effects of previous decades, as the educational and health services come at the top priority of this decent life .Moreover and the establishment of a new headquarters for Sohag University in the new city of Sohag was an urgent requirement .And the desire of the university to provide educational and medical services not only to the people of Sohag Governorate, but to all the people of the South Upper Egypt region, especially in the desert borderline of the governorate, which does not have any health services and is in bad need of establishing a hospital to serve the new urban community in that region, especially since it is located at the crossroads of desert roads.
